The food manufacturer's packaging challenge

"As part of Arla's sustainability strategy, we would like to develop more reusable packaging," says Lise Berg Kildemark, director of sustainable packaging at Arla Foods.

"It's just not right. On the one hand, the packaging must protect against food waste, which has a negative impact on the climate. On the other hand, we like our packaging to be recyclable. Today, a lot of cheese is packed in multilaminate film. We want to replace that with the more easily recyclable plastic type monofilm. We therefore hope that the project makes it possible to both protect our products and ensure the possibility of recycling the packaging of the future.”
